RAPID CITY, S.D. (KELO.com) – A Rapid City man is facing 15 years in prison for a shooting in January.
Torell Flute was sentenced on Friday for shooting a 36-year-old victim in the head.
The victim survived the attack and identified Flute as the shooter.
He was originally charged with attempted murder, but prosecutors agreed to reduce the charge to aggravated assault.
The victim’s survival was described by the Deputy State’s Attorney as a “medical miracle.”
Flute was also charged with having a firearm due to a prior drug conviction.
